The story of Corrado Rusalen

Corrado Rusalen, soul of Alpi Aviation, is a pilot and instructor of ultralights, general aviation aircraft and helicopters, with a over 8,000 flying hours.

Who we are

20 years of experience

Since 1999 Alpi Aviation is a reference for those who want to approach the flight in an accessible, quality, safe and entertaining way. Success for Alpi Aviation is the pleasure of flying that is able to deliver to its customers, a pleasure that derives from the ability to transform a hobby into a profession, from a deep passion for flying and from the same “pioneering” spirit of the founding fathers of international aviation.

That’s why, when first model, Pioneer 300, was manufactured back in 1999, our dream became reality and finally it could be shared with all true flight enthusiasts, our friends, our family.

Headquarter and main facility are in Pordenone, close to LIKL “La Comina” Airfield, strategically located in the north-east part of Italy, only few kilometers far from Venice. Our main subsidiary is in Croatia and is devoted to wooden parts construction and aircraft initial assembly. An international team of young, talented, skilled, motivated and positive people works every day continuously looking for safety improvements and innovative designs.

Moreover, thanks to our sales network of enthusiastic resellers, more than 1000 aircraft, with thousands flight hours logged, have been sold in 31 countries.

Our

Vision

The thrill of flying within everyone’s reach..

Making people aware that flying has never been easier, so beautiful and exciting.

Our

Mission

Our aircrafts are constructed using traditional artisanal craftmanship, continuously innovating &bringing new solutions in the quest for excellence and perfection.

Our aircrafts and helicopters combine unique flight characteristics and very high performance with a timeless design.

Our

Values

Passion and tenacity have guided us to achieve the dream, create a company / family comprised of people in love with aviation, who surmount every challenge with courage, expertise and enthusiasm and who, thanks to their renowned professionalism and reliability, have contributed to raising the quality standards of every Alpi Aviation project.

Technology

Why we build wood-composite aircraft?

We mainly use rigatino fir wood to manufacture Alpi Aviation aircraft, the same resonance wood used to make the soundboard of musical instruments, in combination with other materials such as carbon fiber, Dacron and Kevlar.

Wood is an ideal material for aircraft construction: in fact, it is durable and light. It has an excellent relationship between strength and specific weight, it is resistant to bending, compression and traction, with better performance to manage dynamic stress, typical of flight. Wood is elastic and returns to the initial shape when the loads to which it is subjected ceases, thus making the flight experience very comfortable.

All these excellent characteristics are stable at varying temperatures. Furthermore, wood does not fear water: as it absorbs it, it releases it. Moreover, in case of breakage, it can be easily repaired or replaced.

Alpi Aviation has always nourished a technological culture based on the knowledge of materials and their use. This is why, in the production of aircraft, we associate the use of wood, with above said qualities, with composite material (consisting of an epoxy matrix reinforced with carbon fiber), which significantly contributes to the quality and value of our aeronautical products.

Developing an airplane is nothing, building it is easy, but doing it beautiful and well flying is our main job.

Alpi Aviation designs and manufactures a broad range of Light and Ultralight aircrafts, helicopters and unarmed military drones. With more than 20 years of experience, we successfully design, build and market a full range of safe, reliable, high-performing and naturally elegant planes for beginners, experienced and travellers pilots in Europe and across the globe.

For our Pioneer Line we combine wood and advanced composite materials such as carbon fibre and Dacron. This peculiar mix allows perfect aerodynamic shapes, no corrosion problems and nearly infinite resistance to stress that extends the life of our customer investment.

In short, more strength, lightness and extreme longevity for our products. We are sensitive to our customer needs, flexible and fast, ensuring long-term spare parts availability and committed after sales services.

Our aircraft are available “ready to fly” or in “Kit form”, Ultralight, LSA, Experimental.

Depending on the model, a specific range of customizable options are available, such as:
– auxiliary fuel tanks;
– propeller type VFR, IFR Panel and glass-cockpit parachute;
– turbocharged and fuel injected engine.
